Royal Prince Alfred Hospital rose to national prominence in 1995 when it became the subject of Channel Nine’s reality television series RPA. The top-rating series followed patients through their treatment in NSW’s premier teaching hospital.

RPA has been a respected provider of health care since 1882.

The principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney offers specialty services from its main campus in Missenden Rd, Camperdown; Rachel Foster Hospital, Redfern; King George V Hospital, Camperdown; Dame Edith Walker Hospital, Concord West; and Rivendell Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatric Services at Thomas Walker Hospital, Concord West.

As one of Australia's leading hospitals, RPA provides an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services to more people in NSW than any other public hospital. Its specialties include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, and liver and kidney transplants.
