Tresillian offer a variety of Courses for parents

Parent Education

Parent Education is an important focus of Tresillian and parent groups are held on an ongoing basis both within Tresillian Centres and externally.

Courses are held in-house regularly and include:

• Dealing with postnatal depression
• Toddlers are Terrific
• Toddlers management and parenting issues
• First Aid
• Adjustment to Parenthood
• Mothering for the over 35’s
• Focus on Fathers

Tresillian’s Education & Research Unit also offer a variety of Courses in conjunction with other groups in the community such as Schools, Playgroups and Community Centres. In the past, Tresillian has held group programs on the following topics:

• Parenting Twins
• Preparation for Parenthood for expectant parents
• Grandparenting – when Grandparents are carers
• Parenting between cultures

Special Projects

Mothering from Inside Project – a strength based parenting course for women with young children living in the Corrective Services facility at Emu Plains.

Parenting across Cultures – School Readiness Program for parents from multicultural backgrounds – Tresillian and Schools as communities have been co-facilitating this Parenting across Cultures project with Schools in Lakemba and Wiley Park
