Post Graduate Nurse Education at Tresillian

These days our Education team offer two Education Courses for health professionals;

Graduate Certificate Child & Family Health Nursing for Registered Nurses
Child and family health is a primary health care nursing service where the nurse works in partnership with parents as they learn the skills of parenting and caring for the infant and growing child. The community health role of the child and family health nurse includes health teaching with parents, health promotion in the community, group work and counseling for parents and caregivers.

The Child & Family Health Nursing Graduate Certificate is a 12-month course provided by Tresillian in partnership with the University of Technology, Sydney. It is conducted in block mode by distance education and includes workshops at UTS and Tresillian. The course aims to develop knowledge and skills in child and family health nursing for beginning practitioners in the clinical nursing specialty. The clinical experience component is completed at Tresillian Centres and in Child and Family Health Centres.

Professional Education

Tresillian regularly provides workshops and sessions for Child & Family Health Professionals working with families right across New South Wales. The workshops give health professionals the opportunity to update their knowledge and network with other community workers.

Every two years Tresillian holds a two to three day Conference for health professionals in Sydney where professionals from a range of disciplines come together to discuss issues ranging from the psycho-social aspects of parenting to child health based on the latest research based information.
