Liverpool Hospital is a 650 bed tertiary referral and teaching
hospital. The Liverpool area has a large culturally diverse community. The
hospital has a proud history, with a cosmopolitan look – a key factor that
has attracted a young, vibrant and motivated workforce. Liverpool is the New
South Wales site for the Centre for Applied Nursing Research, and the State
collaborating centre for the Joanna Briggs Institute. We are affiliated and
have forged a strong link with the local universities.
Liverpool Hospital has an internationally recognised Trauma Centre, and
is currently undergoing multi-million dollar expansions of the Emergency
Department and its Mental Health Services. Service provision includes a large
Intensive Care Unit, Operating Theatre Suite, high risk and complex maternity
cases, and a comprehensive range of medicine and surgery. We offer care to
the community from neonates through to the aged population.
Liverpool Hospital is approximately 35 minutes south west of the Sydney
Central Business District. Public transport is readily accessible with buses
available at the door and the train station within walking distance. A large
shopping centre, cafes and restaurants are also within walking distance.
Liverpool is surrounded by lakes, gardens, and bushland providing residents
with a myriad of recreational activities to suit all tastes.
