YOUTH HEALTH SERVICES

Youth Health Services provide counselling/case management, support, advocacy, information, education, resources and referral  for issues including family relationships, mental health accommodation,  drugs & alcohol, finances and sexual health.

Counsellors, Doctors, Dental Therapists, Youth Health Social Workers and Health Promotion workers are available, and all services are confidential and free of charge. No Medicare card required.

Youth Health Services are provided at two centres, Youthblock and Canterbury : 

Youthblock Health & Resource Centre

Youthblock  is based on an holistic health model, providing counselling, medical and dental therapy services, and health, visual arts and music programs.

Getting there: Park on street or in hospital car park at a cost. Train to Newtown station + 15 min walk or buses to King Street or Parramatta Road +10 minute walk.

Opening Hours: 9am to 5.30pm Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri (excluding public holidays) , 

2.00-5.30 Wednesdays

Who is eligible: Homeless and at risk young people aged 12-20 years.

Getting there: By bus or train to Belmore station, then 100 metres walk behind station.

Opening Hours: 9.00am-5.30pm Monday - Friday (excluding public holidays).

Who is eligible: CMYHS works together with young people between 12-24 years old who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness in the Canterbury LGA.

Other Activities: There is a Drop In program on Wednesdays and Fridays between 2:00-5:30pm, a doctor available on Wednesdays and a Dental Health Worker on Fridays.

CMYHS also provides outreach, groups in partnership with other services and health promotion education.
