| Vacancies Our vacancies are advertised in the Sydney Morning Herald in the Hospital and Medical section on Thursdays, local press such as the Bankstown Canterbury Torch or the St George Leader. In addition, our vacancies are advertised under Central Sydney Area Health Service on the following websites: www.justhealthjobs.com.au www.health.nsw.gov.au/jobs Apart from nursing and medical positions, we employ staff in Allied Health, Hospitality and Administration areas. How to apply for a vacancy You should telephone the nominated contact officer in the advertisement for additional information including a Job Description which will assist you in preparing your application for position. YOUR APPLICATION SHOULD CLEARLY ADDRESS EACH OF THE CRITERIA SET OUT IN THE JOB DESCRIPTION. A letter accompanying the CV is common. This document shows the selection panel that you have the right mix of skills, knowledge and experience to do the job. Make a separate heading for each selection criterion. For each one, describe your skills, knowledge and experience and show how they could be used in the job. Emphasise your major achievements. Use positive language, for example: ‘in my current role I take responsibility for . . ‘ is better than ‘I have limited experience in . .‘ Key Words in Selection Criteria Demonstrated knowledge: You need to give examples that prove you have this area of knowledge. We regularly hold
interviews for these positions on a full-time, part-time or casual basis and
as such, accept applications in response to advertisements and on a

NUM Recruitment If you are in your second or third year of your
Bachelor of Nursing and continue to study, you are eligible for
consideration for employment as an Undergraduate Nurse. Students work casual
shifts, to compliment their study timetable, which are paid at Assistant in
Nursing rates. Previous Undergraduate Nurses have been appointed as
permanent full-time Registered Nurses under our new graduate Registered

month on-the-job and classroom based programme. Ms Seh-hang H’NG Canterbury is part of the JMO Secondment Network based
at Concord Hospital. In addition, some registrars are seconded from other
hospitals as part of training agreements with Colleges and hospitals. Only a
small number of trainees are employed directly at Canterbury. Training
positions are advertised annually in July for the following calendar year.
Canterbury Hospital positions are part of the NSW Health JMOjobs web site
and follow the same closing dates and interview and appointments schedule.
Other casual vacancies for junior or senior medical staff are advertised
from time to time.
